MediaTekから今後リリースされる予定の64bitアーキテクチャ採用のCPUについて、情報がでてきました。
・Cortex-A53採用
・MT6752は8コア、MT6732は4コア
・スマホ向け
・LTE対応
というあたりがトピックです。
Cortex-A15を拡張したCortex-A57ではなく、Cortex-A7を拡張した省電力のCortex-A53を採用。
big.LITTLEは非対応（Cortex-A57とCortex-A53を組み合わせて構成するはずなので、片方しか採用していないMT67x2では使えないはず)

前々から噂されていたMediaTekのLTE対応チップが、正式に発表されました。
・LTE対応(TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE両対応)
・8コア、ただしCortex-A17 4コア+Cortex-A7 4コアの合計8コア(big.LITTLE対応)
・GPU PowerVR Series 6
・2000万画素カメラ対応
・WQXGA(2560×1600)出力対応
・WiFi 802.11ac対応
・各種衛星位置情報取得システム対応(GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS)
・H.265 codec対応
2014年前半にチップはリリースされ、後半には搭載製品が出てくる予定とのこと。
なぜかGPUがPowerVRに戻っています。
・・・で、同時にARM社の方でも１つリリースが出ています。
「ARM Enhances IP Suite for 2015 Mid-Range Mobile and Consumer Markets」
こっちは2015年登場予定らしいのですが
・Cortex-A17コア
・GPU Mali-T720 / Mali-V500
というものが出てくるらしいです。
これは、GPUがMaliです。
MediaTekが全部自前でやろうとすると、PowerVRになる、って感じなんでしょうかねぇ・・・
まぁ、どちらにしろ、製品登場が楽しみです。
freetelの製品情報が公開されたときは、http://www.plusonejapan.com/ の方がメインだったのが、 製品が発売されるころからは http://www.freetel.jp/ がメインになっていました。
じゃぁ、plusonejapanの方は？といえば、しばらくはfreetel.jpのほうに飛ばされる形になっていました。
今日、久々に見てみると、freetel公式のネット販売ページになっていました。
・・・２台セットでの販売がっ！
しかも、20時ごろに見たときは、19800円だったような気がするんですが、いまみると、なんと「17800円」。しかも送料無料！
・・・いや、まさか、１台8900円なんて値段で出してくるとは。
(2014/02/12 1:00 いま見たら、19800円に戻ってました)
さて、うちにあるfreetelなんですが、firmwareアップデート用のzipファイルが入手でき、改造に失敗しても戻す手段が確保されたので、いろいろ無茶な改造を試みています。
まだ、公開できるようなものが出来上がってませんけどね。
さて、どーなることやらね。
3G SIMを２回線、例えば、ドコモSIMとソフトバンクSIMを同時にいれ、どちらの電話を受けることができる、ということが「日本国内で」可能であるか、ということについて。
2014年2月7日現在で入手可能なものとしては、 Coolpad (酷派) W770のみ、となります。
それ以外の「Dual待受可能！」と謳っているものは、「3G回線を１つ」と「2G回線(GSM)を１つ」が同時に待受可能なものとなります。(2014/03/18追記:Covia FleaPhone CP-F03aも”3G１つ”+”2G１つ”です)
今後リリースされるという噂のNOKIA Lumia 630ですが、ほんとに3G 2回線同時待受が可能かどうかは未知数です。
MediaTek MT6572チップ搭載のもので、3SIM対応と謳っているものは、基本的に、3G回線１つと2G回線２つ、になります。
3枚SIM対応の「Optimus L1 II Tri」も恐らくこの仕様だと想定されます。（3G ２回線対応だったら、おそらくもうちょっと値段が高いはず）
また、MediaTekチップ採用モデルの特徴の１つとして、SIMスロットに「3G/GSM」「GSM」と印刷されていますが、実際にはどちらも「3G/GSM」として認識するものの、3G回線を使って通信できるのは、どちらか一方のみ、というものがあります。
現時点で可能なCoolpad W770ですが、Qualcommチップ採用のAndroid 2.1、と古い端末になります。
なぜ、この時期に、こんな端末ができてしまったのか！？、と非常に謎な存在になります。
残念ながら、OSも古く、またバッテリーの持ちとかもあまり良くないですし、
何よりメーカ側で生産が終了して２年ぐらい経ってしまっていますので、いまさら入手できない端末となっています。
なぜ、3Gの２回線待受ができる端末が登場しないのか？
というあたりですが、「日本のキャリアが圧力をかけてる」という妄言を吐く人が散見されますが、そんな理由ではありません。
「作るのが大変だから」「コストに見合わないから」、という単純な理由です。
3G回線１つと2G回線１つの同時待受であれば、Qualcomm,MediaTek,Spreadtechなど各社から対応したチップが販売されています。
それに対して、3G回線を２つ、にしようとすると、それに対応したチップが無いため、専用に作らなければなりません。
専用に作るにはコストがかかりますが、そのコストに見合うだけの販売台数および価格が確保できるのか？というところが問題になってきます。
（正確には、そういうチップがあるっぽいんだけど、製品の実在を確認できていない）
実際、Coolpad W770は、専用に作り、そのために同時期に販売された製品に比べて高い値段となってしまっていました。
その結果、メーカが予想した販売を下回ってしまったようで、後継製品が出ない、という結末になりました。
とはいえ、2014年は、海外でも3G地域が増えてきているようですし、いい加減、新製品が出てくるのではないか？と期待されています。
関連用語集
・DSSS
「Dual SIM Single Standby」
SIMを２枚させるが、待受可能なのは１回線のみ、という意味。
・DSDS
「Dual SIM Dual Standby」の略。
2枚さしたSIMが２回線とも同時待受可能、という意味
片方で通話中に、もう片側の回線を使うことはできない。
・DSDA / DADS / DSFA
「Dual SIM Dual Active」「Dual Active Dual Standby」「Dual SIM Full Active」
2枚さしたSIMが２回線とも同時待受&送信可能、という意味。
２回線分無線設備が用意されているため、片方で通話中に、もう片方でデータ通信する、ということが可能。

hpe ProLiant DL360Gen10サーバにLinuxをインストールする機会があったので検証した
最初に確認すべきWeb「hpe Software Delivery Repository一覧」
HPE特有の管理ソフトについては「Service Pack for ProLiantレポジトリ(spp)」か「Management Component Packレポジトリ(mcp)」を使う。
sppはRHEL純正かSLES純正。mcpはそれ以外のLinux向けとなる。
mcpで対応してるLinuxについてはmcpレポジトリツリー を開き、存在しているディレクトリを確認する。AlmaLInux, CentOS, Debian, OracleLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntuはmcpを使う。
sppとmcpでの大きな違いはfirmwareアップデートを行うSUMはsppのみで提供、というところ。
ただ、試してみたところ、spp、SUMともにAlmaLinuxに対して適用自体は可能だった。
RHEL純正、SLES純正の場合に使用するのがService Pack for ProLiant(spp)

sppレポジトリだとProLiantサーバのBIOSやiLOなどのfirmware アップデート系も提供されているが、firmware適用の仕組みはこちらでは提供されず、SUMレポジトリにあるsmartupdateコマンドを使う・・・模様
sppに対応していないLinuxディストリビューションはManagement Component Pack(mcp)を使う
説明にかかれているbaseurlはhttpで指定されているが、httpsでも問題ないので、いま設定するのであればhttpsにしておくべきかと思われる

数ヶ月ごとにリリースされるISOでfirmware一括提供されているが、コマンドとして提供されているのもある。
コマンドとして使う場合に組み合わせて使うのがFirmware Pack for ProLiant(fwpp)レポジトリ

・ssacli SmartArrayの管理コマンド
・ssaducli SmartArrayの管理コマンドdiag系
・ssa SmartArrayの管理サービス
・storcli MegaRAIDの管理コマンド
RHEL純正の場合でfirmwareアップデートもコマンドである程度できるようにした場合はsumレポジトリで提供される
・sum SmartUpdateManager関連(smartupdateコマンド)
また、hpeの監視ソフトOneViewと連携する場合、sppレポジトリで提供される下記もあった方がよい？
・sut OneView向けコマンド
OS側のパッケージで必要となるものがいくつかあったので、セットアップ時に追加しておくとよいもの

ProLiant Gen9以降でiLOとOS間で情報連携を行うために使用するのがHPE Agentless Management Service(amsd)
amsdはsppとmcpで提供されている。
これがインストールされていない場合、例えば[システム情報]-[ネットワーク]で下記のような表示となる。
amsdをインストールして起動すると表示が変わる。

amsd起動後、すぐにiLO Webに反映されるわけではないようで、1分ぐらいかかった
sumレポジトリで提供されるsumパッケージのコマンドsmartupdate
RHELとSLES専用とあるが、2024年2月27時点ではAlmaLinuxでもそれなりに動作していた。
レポジトリ説明ページにはFirmware Pack for ProLiantと組み合わせ以下を実行する、とある
# yum install $(smartupdate requires)
# smartupdate list
# smartupdate upgrade
ただ、こちらの環境で試した限りでは「yum install $(smartupdate requires)」ではパッケージのインストールには失敗していた。
「smartupdate requires」で出力される内容と「dnf –disablerepo=”*” –enablerepo=”fwpp” list available」で出力されるfwppレポジトリで提供されるパッケージ一覧を比較すると、別にそれほど選別してパッケージを選んでいるわけでもなかったので、以下をインストールした。
まず、ProLiantサーバのROMの番号?を「smartupdate list」コマンドを実行して確認

firmwareの手動適用は /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ に firmware-??? というディレクトリが作成されているので、各ディレクトリの中にある「hpsetup」を実行することでアップデートが実施できる
たとえば、firmware-powerpic-gen10-1.1.0-1.1 をアップデートした場合

hp ProLiantをLinuxで使う場合にインストールする管理ソフトウェア集について、HPE公式でいくつか記事が書かれていた
・「HPE Linux技術情報サイトの歩き方～CentOS代替ディストビューション情報について～」
・「Linux用管理ツールについての技術情報」
RHELではなく、RockLinux, AlmaLinux, OracleLinuxなどで、RHEL向け管理ソフトを使ってよいのか？ということについて記載されている。
管理ソフトウェアについては「MCP – Management Component Pack」(英語 SDR Management Component Pack)を使用する。
こちらについてはHPE Support契約は必要がなく使える。
ドライバについては「Service Pack for ProLiant」に含まれているドライバを使用することもできるが、手動でrpmをインストールする必要がある

RHELユーザの場合はSDR Service Pack for ProLiant が使える。以前はサポート登録が必要だったが、2023/10現在「Software Delivery Repositoryのプロジェクト一覧」で「auth req’d」表示が無くなっているということは登録しなくても使えるようになった？

hp ProLiantをLinuxで使う場合、Service Pack for ProLiantという追加ドライバ＆管理ソフトウェア集をインストールする・・・ということになっている。

基本的にはisoイメージで配布されており、ディストリビューション特化型の縮小版がtar.gzでも配布されている。
それぞれ、中に「hpsum」というパッケージインストール用フロントエンドプログラム(Smart Update Manager/SUM)が入っているので、それを実行して、インストールを行うことになる。

で・・・hp USAのページを見ていたら「hp Software Delivery Repository」「HPE Software Delivery Repository」なんてものを発見。
RHEL/CentOSであれば、yumコマンドでhpの管理系ソフトウェアがインストールできるようになるらしい。
