64bit RISC-VコアのStarFive Vision Five 2が届いたけど標準提供Debianはうまく動かないバグあり

64bitのRISC-Vコアを4コア積んだSoC StarFive JH7110を使用したStarFive Vision Five2のクラウドファンディングが8月にあったのでRAM 4GBモデルを1個手配した。(ラズパイ4相当の性能が出るらしいRISC-VコアのSBC StarFive Vision Five 2のクラウドファンディングが進行中)

当初予定は2022年11月でしたが順調に遅れて、年越し間近の2022年12月29日に届きました。発送連絡は無く、突然の到着でした。

USBコネクタ 4個、HDMI、NIC 2ポートが同じ面についています。

裏面は、M.2 M-keyとmicroSDスロットです。

Vision Five 2に関するドキュメントは https://doc-en.rvspace.org/Doc_Center/visionfive_2.html にあります。

Debian OSの入手先は「Quick Start Guide」の「Flashing with Linux or Windows」に「Download the latest Debian image from: this link.」と記載されているように  https://debian.starfivetech.com/ からダウンロードできます。

2022/12/30時点では2022/12/20付けのImage-55、2022/12/26付けのImage-69が入手できます。

Quick Start Guideの「Logging into Debian」を見ると、HDMI画面が普通に出てくるように読めますが、実際のところ、標準出力は、GPIO端子のUARTシリアルコンソールとなっています。

このため、Xが起動するまでHDMI出力は真っ暗なままです。

しかも、新しいImage-69の方はX画面が出ません。Image-55であればX画面が出ます。

シリアルコンソールはUsing a USB to Serial ConverterFor Windows にある下記にしたがって結線して、115200 で接続。

うちで転がっていた大昔のPlannex NAS開発キットについてたTTL変換を久々に利用している。

うーん・・・起動に失敗してますね。

2023/01/12追記:Image-69で起動が失敗する件は「StarFive Vision Five 2の2022年12月出荷分を使うには面倒くさい手順が必要」で解消できます。

Image-55を書き込んで起動してみます。

Type-C PD電源を繋ぐと12Vで給電されました。秋月で売ってる5.1V3.8Aアダプタでも動きました。

ログインは「root」、パスワードは「starfive」です。

ラズパイ4相当の性能が出るらしいRISC-VコアのSBC StarFive Vision Five 2のクラウドファンディングが進行中

例のごとくにcnxsoftwareで「StarFive VisionFive 2 quad-core RISC-V SBC launched for $46 and up (Crowdfunding)」という記事が出ていて、RISC-Vコアのボードのクラファン案件を知る

RISC-Vコアを実装しているベンダの1つであるStarFive techが新しくRV64GCを4コアつんだSoC JH7110を開発し、それを積んだボード StarFive Vision Five 2のクラウドファンディングを開始した、というもの

現時点で公開されているスペックは下記

1Gb NICが2ポートあるというのは興味深い。

そして、M.2 M-Keyのストレージスロットがあるので、そこを使うとそこそこのストレージ性能は出せそうな雰囲気

電源供給はType-C PDとGPIO経由というのはラズパイ4と同等という感じ。

大きさはラズパイ4が85*56mmのところ、100*72mmと大きい

その他、ラズパイ4とスペック比較をすると、下記のようになっており、オレンジになってる部分はスペックが上ということになっている。

GPUがOpenGL ES3.2.OpenCL 1.2, Vulkan 1.2対応と額面スペックとしては上になっているが、はたして実装/実態はどうなっていることか?

そして、気になる新SoC JH7110の演算性能は下記のようにうたわれている。

ただ、今回のクラファンでは、4GBモデルは2022年11月出荷を目指すものの、それ以外の2GBモデルと8GBモデルについては2023年2月出荷予定、と遅れている点に注意が必要。

さしあたっては面白そうなので「VF2-4GB」のSuper Early Birdに1枠入れました。日本への送料込みで約8千円といったところです。

はたして、どのようになるか楽しみですね。

HuaweiのHarmonyOS関連をおっていたら、中国におけるIoT向け開発する場合のサイト一覧みたいなものを発見したので、その情報を追加しつつ、全体的に情報更新を実施。

ただ、Huawei系の人なようで、AliOSに関する記載がなかったりしている。

AliOS系統

AliOS

元々はalibabaがAndroid(AOSP)をベースにカスタマイズしたOS。「Yun OS」「Aliyun OS」といった呼び方をされていた時期もある。

基本的にはGapps(Google Play Storeなど)が入っておらず、代わりにalibaba系でやってるサービスやストアが導入されている中国向けのAndroidといった感じのものになっている。

AliOS Things

AliOSのIoT向けとして作成されているOS。AliOSといってもAndroidベースではない。

Huawei系統

LiteOS

Narrow Band IoT(NB-IoT)など向けにHuaweiが開発していたOS。これが、OpenHarmonyに発展した。

てっきり、全面OpenHarmonyに移行なのかと思ったら、2021年11月現在も更新は続いている。

HarmonyOS

「鴻蒙 OS( HongMeng OS)」とも呼ばれることがある。LiteOSはIoT向けのみだったが、その適用範囲を大幅に広げ、スマートフォンも対象に含むようだ。

最初はgithubで公開されていたがhuawei排除の波におされgiteeというサイトに移動した。

ただ、Androidアプリも動くスマホなど向けのものと、IoT向けのものの区別がよく分からない。

GoogleのAndroidとAOSPみたな関係で、HarmonyOSとOpenHarmony があるようで、giteeでソースが公開されている。

OpenHarmonyリリースノートからSIG_DevBoardという開発者向け基板に関する情報を見てみると、Android向けのメーカ名だけではなく、espressifなどのIoT向けのメーカ名も入っている。

いまいちここらへんの区切りがどうなっているのかよくわからない

HuaweiではARKという、AndroidでいうとART(Android Run Time)みたいなものを作成しているようで、「方舟编译器(Open Ark compiler)」というページで関連資料が公開されている。

昔からのやつら

Tizen

Samsungが開発している自社向けOS。2020/10/27にTizen 6.0がリリースされていたりしている。

Android代替のTizen Mobileということで始まっているので、スマホやタブレットでTizen OS搭載のものがリリースされたりしているが、あまり売れていないようだ。
TV向けのTizen TVやWearデバイス向けTizen Wearなどは出ている。

Tizen Wearについては2021年6月にGoogleのWear OSとの統合が発表された。(グーグルとサムスン、「Wear OS」「Tizen」を統合)

いままでAndroidベースだったWear OS by Googleを、省電力なTizenベースで構築し、その上にGoogle基盤を載せるという方向転換が行われている。

Tizen RT」というCortex-M/R SoC向けのバリエーションもあるようだが、こちらは2017/5のTizen RT 1.0以降更新がないようだ。

webOS

現在はLGが主体となって開発しているpalm webOS。
LG社のTV向けOSとして現在も開発は続けられている。(最新のwebOS TV SDK v6.0.1のリリースが2021/8で、webOS OSE v2.13.2は2021/10)

kaiOS

Firefox OSのB2G部分をベースに開発が続けられているモバイル向けOS。
インドのJio社やNOKIAのフィーチャーフォンで使われており、昨日も新しいデバイスが発表されたりしている。

元々はFirefox version 59をベースに開発を進めていたが、2020年のMozillaと提携して、更新を行っているようだが、それを反映したKaiOSは2021年11月時点でも製品に搭載されていない模様。

mozilla wikiにも「KaiOS」というページが出来て、構築手法の紹介がされている。

C-SKY社によるRISC-V実装CK610Mと開発ボードGX6605S

cnx-softwareで「$6 C-SKY Linux Development Board Features GX6605S Media SoC with C-SKY ISA」という記事が出ていた。
内容を確認するために、いろいろ調べたのでメモ書き

RISC-V実装として「SiFive」による実装が有名である。
ちょっと前にはBitcoinマイニングマシンを作ってる会社「Canaan Creative」から「KENDRYTE K210」というSoCがリリースされている。
(KENDRYTE K210採用のRISC-Vボード Lichee Dan)

今回のは、「C-SKY」という中国の会社が作成した、RISC-V実装の「CK610M」を使い、海外デジタルテレビのDVB-S2のデコードエンジンなどを組み合わせたNationalchip社のSoC「GX6605S
を使用した開発ボードである。

aleixpressだと19.50ドルで販売中
USBコネクタとHDMI出力付きなので、比較的お手軽にRISC-V環境が手に入る感じですね
